Christopher Lawrence Stone is an investment banker specializing in tailor-made succession strategies that help business owners achieve a seamless transition. In addition to co-founding Stone Capital Consulting, Christopher has created and scaled companies in variety of business segments, including mergers and acquisitions, property & casualty insurance, banking, marketing, and software development. Before establishing himself as a serial entrepreneur, he spent years working in the trades.
This unique background gives Chris a base of knowledge that spans from blue-collar industries to white-collar professions and beyond. His decision making and problem-solving skills are derived from years of diverse entrepreneurial experiences from startup through succession. This gives Chris the ability to understand the engineering behind each business, and what it takes to navigate the various challenges of transition.
Zach Sharkey, a managing member of Stone Capital, specializes in valuation, negotiations, and transaction deal structure for Stone Capital’s clients. His deep experience in the private capital markets and education allow Stone Capital to provide Wall Street services to Main Street businesses. Zach is a licensed CPA, a CFA Charterholder, and is Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) with the AICPA.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Lake Forest College and a Masters of Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State, graduating with academic distinction. Zach has valued companies from under $1 million to over $1 billion and has represented sell-side clients in both the lower-middle market and lower market.

As an entrepreneur in the wealth management industry since 1995, John has a passion for bringing a family office model to entrepreneurial-minded clients that want to challenge the status quo. John founded e3 ConsultantsGROUP in 2003 to provide an integrated resource network of financial professionals so that e3’s clients could take control of their financial picture.
Educating the public about ways to protect the purpose of their money is at the core of John’s passion. He has been a guest or hosted radio shows, television programs, podcasts, and written several books on topics where John has been considered a subject matter expert. Born and raised in St. Louis, John currently resides in Webster Groves, Missouri, with his wife, Ellen, and their two children, Harrison and Catherine. In his free time, John is an avid golfer as well as a wine and cigar enthusiast.
